Avid athlete Pippa Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister, is to take part in the epic Vasaloppet ski race in Sweden with her brother James for charity.

The world’s longest cross-country race between Sälen and Mora in Dalarna, the Vasaloppet ski race covers 56 miles and attracts some 30,000 participants annually.

The week begins on Sunday, in KortVasan, then snakes through TjejVasan, Öppet spår, StafettVasan, HalvVasan, SkejtVasan, culminating in Vasaloppet itself.

Pippa commented on her JustGiving donation page: “My brother and I are raising money for Magic Breakfast, a small registered charity that fights child hunger through breakfast clubs and delivering free breakfasts (bagels, cereal, juice and porridge) to thousands of state primary school children in the UK particularly our inner cities.”

The Vasaloppet ski race is one of the oldest, one of the longest and considered the biggest cross-country ski race in the world.
